PR ACTIVITIES - WHAT'S NEW?
Poetry Out Loud
To encourage the poets and the folks proficient in recitation, we conducted a Poetry recitation contest for employees of Infosys, Mangalore DC.
When it came to expressing thoughts and emotions via poetry, language was no bar as the contest was conducted in 2 categories-English & Local vernacular.
The winners were Karthik Rao and Harshvardhan Bajpai.
Toastmasters Got Talent

An evening was dedicated for Toastmasters to showcase their talent. We had 17 participants from across 12 clubs in India and the crowd was virtually entertained with singing, dancing, poetry and art and craft.
Just a Minute
To encourage impromptu speaking and quick thinking, we have conducted a JAM (Just a Minute) contest for participants across India. The rule was to avoid any hesitation, deviation and repetition.
We had 12 participants battle it out for glory, adjudged by a few Toastmasters. Mamtha, Anupa Roy and Sanjana Kini were adjudged the winner, runners up and second runners up respectively.
Meeting Theme PR Activity
To generate excitement and buzz around our meetings, we share activities and quizzes related to the theme. It is open to all Infosys Mangalore employees and participants who join us for the meeting stand a chance to win exciting prizes through luck draw.
Online Educational Session
At Infosys toastmasters, we believe that working from home should not come be a hurdle in learning. Hence we have organized multiple education sessions by eminent speakers & leaders which can benefit audience of all ages.
An insightful session titled 'Liberate the Leader in you' was conducted by TM Chendil Kumar which delved into how we can be impactful leaders.
TM Dileep Choyapally conducted a session titled-'Level Up' which was an eye opener on how we can make changes to grow personally & professionally.
TM Samir Geepee conducted a session on Navigating through Corporate Conversations on how to have impactful conversations at workplace.
Word and Phrase for the day
We started an initiative to share a word and phrase weekly with the DC and on our social networks as well. This PR activity was aimed towards educating everyone, irrespective of them being members of the club or not.
We inspired them to use these words and phrases in their daily lives and submit their entries in comment sections of these posts.
Navras Selfie Contest
The first meeting of the term June-December 2018 created a buzz in the DC with our PR activity called the “Navarasa selfie contest” organized by then club VPPR TM Pratiksha Verma and Associate VPPR TM Deepika Prakash.
The participants had to click pictures depicting all 9 emotions - Navarasa.
The winners of the contest were given goodies and were invited to our club meeting.
Promoting Lex
Our club collaborated with ETA (Education, Training & Assessment team of Infosys) to promote LEX – a learning application for Infoscions. The promotional event was hosted and managed by Minfy Toastmasters.
Later in the evening, the benefits and features of LEX were discussed in the club meeting with an aim to ensure an increased usage of the platform. Members of ETA joined us for the special occasion.
WCPS Finale Screening
A huge addition to this list was the live screening of WCPS Finale at our immediate past President TM Anubhav’s residence.
Keeping the spirit of public speaking alive, the club came together and witnessed the international championship and other related events, making this activity a huge success.
Club Promotion
Infosys Toastmasters Mangalore witnessed another extensive PR campaign wherein a kiosk was set up in the food court to promote the club. The members of the club spoke to several interested candidates and explained the typical day of a Toastmaster to them.
The turn out was overwhelming and club received a positive response from both prospective members as well as DC officials.
Voice of Toastmasters
The biggest event so far that attracted a lot of attention was the “Voice of Toastmasters – A speech marathon wherein 13 speakers delivered their speeches leaving the audience spellbound and enthralled.
The evaluation for all the speeches was done as a part of an online evaluation contest, wherein, the participating evaluators had to make a video of their evaluations and share them with us through social media.
Induction Program
Another promotional activity was addressing the new joinees at the fresher’s induction program. TM Anubhav Ghosh, TM Jyotsna Rai, TM Puneet Walia, TM Akhil Kumar, TM Deepika Prakash, TM Surabhi Sharma and TM Pragathi BK addressed the gathering by telling them about the club.
The new joinees were also given information about Mangalore, a place to be. This activity resulted in a huge number of guests attending the meeting later that evening.
Educational Session
At Infosys toastmasters, we make sure that members get every opportunity to learn and improve. One such initiative was an educational session by TM Prathima Bhat on “How to become a good evaluator”.
Evaluation is an integral part of any Toastmaster's journey. Keeping this in mind, this special educational session was planned by then VP Education, TM Akhil Kumar. The members benefited from the session and applied the learning in the upcoming evaluation contest.
“Be Bold and Be Heard”
A membership promotional activity carried out by members with the motto, 'become a member, join a family' was started to entice people of Infosys Mangalore DC to join Toastmasters.
As a part of this membership campaign, the members joining were offered special discounts and Toastmasters goodies. The response for this particular campaign was overwhelming and a good number of leads were generated.

“Debate” - participate and voice your opinion.
“Valentine’s day” - post a picture on Facebook or Instagram of something which makes us love ourselves with caption #iammyvalentine.
“Guess who”, identify a personality with his or her tweet.
300th Meeting
"Remember to celebrate great achievements as you prepare for the road ahead!" - Completing 300 meetings definitely calls for a celebration; a celebration of achievements - with some fun and competition. We conducted 4 contests, which received participation from the Toastmasters fraternity across Mangalore and from with Infosys Mangalore DC :

10th Year Celebrations
"Success is as sweet as honey". Infosys Toastmasters Mangalore SEZ turned 10 years old in October 2019 and the members decided to commemorate this success by conducting 10 varied events across 10 months.
