On 7th May 2017, the room 'James Gosling' was full of people. It was a special occasion and a very prominent one, else you wouldn’t find a room full of people on a Sunday morning at a place which is 26 Kilometers from the city.

 

The special occasion was Confluence 2017, the Division F Conference which featured the International Speech Contest and Table Topic Contest. The winner of these contests will go on to represent Division F in Coronation 2017, District 92 Annual Conference at Mysore. It was a moment of pride for our Club, Infosys Toastmasters Mangalore SEZ as we were the hosts of the conference, for the 2nd year running.

 

The Conference was graced by the presence of the Trio of District 92, District Director DTM Pawas Chandra, Program Quality Director DTM Sudha Balajee and Club Growth Director DTM Suhas Kumar. The district leaders addressed the audience and motivated everyone to actively take part on leadership roles in their Club, Area, Division and the District. We were privileged to have one of our chief mentors in Division F, DTM Bharathi Shevgoor as the Chief Judge of the Contest. We also had TM Rahul Saria, District Finance Manager, who also graced the occasion with his presence.

 

Nikita Shinde and Jyothsna Sarali represented our club in the International Speech Contest, and Jyotsna Rai represented our club in the Table Topics contest. TM Jyothsna Sarali was placed 3rd in the International speech contest, and made the club proud.

 

Our members Vedanth, Mayank, Kamal, Poorvi, Sagnik and Meghana as the core committee members of Confluence 2017, did an exceptional job. Their hard work was rewarded by the shower of appreciation from Toastmasters who attended the meeting. Toastmasters and guests from Mysore and Mangalore region enjoyed our hospitality so much that they encouraged us to host more such events.

 

It was a gathering of Toastmasters from all walks of life. From students to Senior Citizens, from professionals to entrepreneurs and from thinkers to dreamers.

 

It was a meeting point of Passion. Of Success. Of Life.
